volunteer
- Volunteers are the life-force of The Lyric Theatre - our events are simply not possible without their input.
- While we are very fortunate to have a very high performing volunteer work-force, we are always on the look out for people who want to support our mahi and help to deliver high quality cultural and social experiences to our community.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world;
indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.

what we do
- Our mission is to deliver high quality cultural experiences to our community.
- Music and performing arts have long been proven to enhance quality of life, improve wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
At a time when the rest of the world seems at odds with each other, isn't it nice to know there is a safe space right in your neighbourhood that just wants to bring people together for music, live theatre, dance, comedy and social activities.
Roles
- Volunteer roles can be varied and we use a roster system to ensure fair opportunity for everyone to participate, on terms that respect their availability and level of commitment.
- Roles include:
- Ushering, bar service, cleaning, building maintenance, stage dressing, gardening, floral arrangement, wardrobe, marketing, grants and sponsorship, food preparation, bill posting and ticketing.
Rewards
- We greatly appreciate the time and effort contributed by each member of our team, all of whom are vital to the success of The Lyric Theatre.
- As volunteers too, we understand the sacrifice in committing time to a non-profit venture and have tailored rewards to demonstrate our gratitude.
