get involved

The success of The Lyric Theatre is in the hands of our community.

There are many different ways to get involved in our efforts;
volunteer your time, become a member of our society or make a donation.

become a volunteer

Volunteerism is the voice of the people put into action. These actions shape and mold the present into a future of which we can all be proud.
- Helen Dyer

Our volunteers are absolutely vital to the daily operation of The Lyric Theatre.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are passionate supporters of the theatre and its place in the heart of our community.

Volunteer roles require varying levels of skills, experience, availability and of course, community spirit. While building/maintenance roles are project-orientated, event-based opportunities can be weekly, fortnightly or monthly, dependent on our event calendar and your availability.

Cash-handling or food service experience are advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.

society membership

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world;
indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.
- Margaret Mead

A meaningful way to contribute towards our future is by joining our society - The Lyric Theatre, Granity, Incorporated.

Your voice and experience will be important when it comes to making and executing decisions that align with our goals of delivering meaningful opportunities while seeking long-term financial sustainability.

Membership responsibilities include attending meetings (typically every second month), promoting events and activities, voting at general meetings and nominating/voting committee members at our Annual General Meetings.

make a donation

There is no better exercise for your heart than reaching down and helping to lift someone up.
- Bernard Meltzer

By supporting our charitable society, you are enabling us to continue delivering opportunities that benefit the community we are proud to serve.

Your donation contributes to the ongoing costs of operating a community-owned venue serving the Northern Buller community. This allows us to plan events and activities that encourage creativity, social connection, skills-development and opportunities for people of all ages to access, engage with or participate in performing arts.

regular donors are vital

Regular giving is a recurring donation that allows us to plan for the year ahead.
This is vital as it means that we know we will have the funds we need to carry out our daily work and embark on new projects.

You can choose the method of payment you prefer - credit card via the online form or automatic bank payment.

All donations over $5.00 are tax deductible.

We will send you an IRD approved receipt at the end of the tax year with all of your donations listed on it.
