It had been in the calendar for weeks. Excitement had been building and by the middle of October, it was reaching a fever pitch. And, finally, after the anticipation was almost too much to handle, the day arrived! Kenny and Dolly rolled into town!
Starring Stevie and Jo as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton respectively, the unforgettable tribute to the country legends made their way to Granity. Their nationally toured show hit The Lyric Theatre’s stage, and it was, as imagined, utterly epic.
They brought the energy, they brought the music and they brought the outfits! Stevie and Jo weren’t the only ones in fabulous outfits either; fancy dress is always strongly encouraged so many attendees turned out in their finest country get-up. Cowboy hats, fancy boots, flannel and even a hobby-horse could be seen out on the dance floor.
From the greatest hits to the romantic numbers, Stevie and Jo played a bit of everything. Everyone had something to sing and dance to; whether it was 9-5 or The Gambler, we were treated to a smorgasbord of nostalgic and fabulous music. We even got a taste of some other artists such as Shania Twain, Pitbull (Stevie blew us all away with a perfect rap from Timber) and many others.
It was absolutely a night to remember with many people saying that it was the best night out they’d had in a long time. The dancefloor was full, and the bar was bustling. No one was ready for the night to end and we managed to cheer Stevie and Jo back on stage for a few more numbers before it was time to go.
We were thrilled to hear that, not only had all our attendees had a magnificent night but Stevie and Jo had enjoyed the crowd from Granity so much, they’d love to come again in the new year! We would love to have them back so keep an eye out for announcements and posters.
